Car registrations in Europe + 6.9% in June, 34th month of growth

The European car market is still growing in June: registrations – according to ACEA data, the association of European manufacturers – were 1,507,303, 6.5% more than in the same month 2015. In the first half of year 8,090,870 cars were delivered, representing an increase of 9.1% on the same period last year. In May the figure had an increase of 16%.
In the note, Acea reminds that June is the thirty-fourth consecutive month of growth for the European market, a result that in terms of volumes dating back to June 2007 just before the crisis in the sector. Among the major Italian markets (+ 11.9%), Spain (+ 11.2%), Germany (+ 8.3%) had the best performance, while the French market remained stable (+ 0.8%). The demand in the UK is decreasing by 0.8% mainly because of the private sales. In the first half of the year all the major markets are growing, especially the Italian (+ 19.2%) and Spain (+ 12.5%), followed by France (+ 8.3%), Germany (+ 7.1%) and the UK + 3.2%).
