Australia fights against paedophiles with passport ban

Announced as a ‘world premiere’, the new legislative project will soon reach the Parliament and its main purpose is to stop the psychopaths who were convicted from leaving the Australian territory.

The measure will lead to the cancellation of 20.000 passports belonging to individuals who have served their sentence for pedophilia but are still in the forefront of some judicial services.

“The new law will forbid convicted pedophiles from leaving Australia or obtaining an Australian passport. Only last year, nearly 800 registered pedophiles fled from Australia”, stated Australian Minister of External Affairs Julie Bishop.

Justice Minister Michael Keenan said no country has such a travel ban. He said 2,500 new convicted pedophiles would be added to the sex offender register each year and would also lose their passports.
The register contains 3,200 serious offenders who will be banned from travel for life. Less serious offenders drop off the register after several years of complying with reporting conditions and would become eligible to have their passports renewed.
“No country has taken such strong measure to prevent this. Pedophiles who travel abroad, often in exposed countries, to violate children. It’s a world premiere”, added Keenan.

Most of them traveled in Asia, ignoring their obligation of reporting their plans to leave the country to the authorities, added the MP stating that half of them were at risk of relapse.

Senator Derry Hinch, one of the most devoted and known personalities in the fight against pedophilia, said he was beyond happy.

"Some are questioning civil rights (private passports). Well, from my point of view, if you violate a child, you lose your civil rights", revealed the politician.

There an estimated two million victims of child sex tourism annually, with the trade worth an estimated $20 billion annually, according to UNICEF.
