Colgate-Palmolive, first quarter 2016 profits slightly down

Colgate-Palmolive has closed the first quarter with a profit of $ 533 million, or 59 cents per share, down slightly from 542 million, or 59 cents per share for the same period last year. "As we look ahead, macroeconomic conditions and foreign exchange volatility remain challenging," Chief Executive Ian Cook said in prepared remarks. "Despite That, we anticipated another year of solid organic sales growth in 2016, driven by new product pipeline in full across all categories and geographies".
