France: the growing car market even in April

The French automobile market is still growing: according to figures released monthly data by the Association of French Automobile Manufacturers (CCFA), the sector recorded a sales increase of 6.5% in April, a slightly lower rate than the first three months of 2016, however, higher than that recorded in the same period last year.

Specifically, last month were sold 181,830 cars, more than half of which are French brands. Among the transalpine houses, Renault group has moved in line with the trend (+ 6.1%), while PSA Peugeot Citroen group recorded a slight growth going up by 4.1%. Among the foreign groups, which together have grown by 8.2%, Germany's Volkswagen continue to record performance below average: 3.1% growth.
