Now it's official, the president of Russia Vladimir Putin will be in China next Saturday, June 25. Although the details of the state visit are not yet known, the Russian ambassador to China, Andrei Denisov said that "With regard to the upcoming visit, we have quite a substantial list of over thirty projects that are now in various stages of preparation".
Among the most anticipated there is the multi-millionaire for trafficking high-speed railway linking Moscow and Kazan to 400 kilometers per hour by reducing the time taken to travel the 770 kilometers that separate the two cities from the current 12 to 3 and a half hours.
Beijing has recently confirmed a loan of 5.5 billion euro for the new railway. The perhaps most important point of the design is that the gap between the rails will be different to that of the rest of Russia making it more likely that the enlargement of the route up to Beijing without the need to change the wheels or the same trains. A project worth over 88 billion that could be part of the funding for the "new" Silk Road.
Not least the energy issue; it would be questioned in fact even a loan for the development of liquefied natural gas fields in Yamal, the Arctic Circle, operated by Novatek. The loan would be 10.5 billion by two Chinese banks, the Export-Import Bank of China and China Development Bank. In the case of reaching an agreement, China would become the first buyer of Russian gas, with imports amounting to 68 billion cubic meters a year.
As reported yesterday by Bloomberg, Putin would also be willing to cede 19.5% of Rosneft shares in China and India. However, the topic would not be on the agenda: as specified by the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexei Ulyukayev, the sale, however, would not have as potential customers the two great powers, but could also relate to other states.
