Apple sold its billionth iPhone, probably now

While Apple's quarterly results are expected today, good news comes from the well-known iPhone sales, which give hope of really positive numbers. According to the US press, the Cupertino company would have sold in recent days billionth iPhone, major symbolic milestone for a company that has always amazed and who initiated this titanic 10 years ago with its founder and inspirational Steve Jobs.

According to the Financial Times, in the April-June quarter the US company would have bitten sold 40 million iPhones, coming to 987 million units, but it was expected that in the current quarter will sell another 40 million. And in these days it would reach 1 billion units.

The iPhone debuted nine years ago (29 June 2007) but half of its sales have just as in the past two years. At current pace, Apple will sell its 2 billionth iPhone by 2020.

As regards the second quarterly, expectations are high in view of the fact that the proceeding was the first to register a drop in sales after 13 years. Moreover, even in this quarter, sales of Apple Watch seems to have disappointed. According to IDC analysts, in fact, sales of Apple Watch in the second quarter fell by 55% and this may have negative consequences on the turnover. The consensus estimates on profit per share (EPS) indicate $ 1.39 and those on turnover 42.35 billion.
