Twitter launches new app TV for live streaming

Twitter is entering the TV world. The social network is launching a new application for Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Microsoft Xbox One that will allow anyone with these devices to watch live programs, from sports to financial news.
The main agreement that Twitter has signed is with the American National Footbal League (NFL): users can also watch the games via the new app, starting today, alongside multimedia content and "social" selected ad hoc. For example, real-time updates of the athletes, the fans, the team. The app is free and users don't need a Twitter account to watch the events, but they will be exposed to advertising from the social network.
"Twitter has always been a great complement to TV, and now fans can enjoy even more premium video with live Tweets — and the best content on Twitter — right from their TVs," Anthony Noto, Twitter's chief financial officer, said in a statement. "We're excited to introduce this new experience to people, without requiring a paywall or having to log in to Twitter."
The sport is the protagonist of the offer but not all. Among the content available on Apple TV and similar devices, there will be financial information from Bloomberg News. Also Twitter has struck deals with the NCAA PAC-12 Conference and the Millennials Cheddar TV news network to livestream Their content and events.
The app for Apple TV is available worldwide, while for Xbox One, the app will first be available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and the U.K. and the app will only be available for Amazon Fire TV and the Fire TV Stick users in the U.S. and U.K.
