China undermines the US from the top step of the podium of the largest banks in the world. According to the annual survey of R & S Mediobanca on international banks, in 2015 the largest commercial bank by assets was the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), with 3.146 billion euro, exceeding the US Jpm Chase (2.989 bn). In third place, unchanged, BofA to 2.557 billion.
The banking giants are more and more Asians in the top five of the ranking includes two other Chinese banks that exceed HSBC and Citi. In fourth place Ccb (China Construction Bank) with 2.534 billion (was sixth last year), followed by ABC (Agricultural Bank of China) with 2.52 trillion (was eighth) and Bank of China with 2.382 billion (was tenth) . Four Chinese institutes, therefore, the first six places.
Only in seventh place we find the first European bank: HSBC is at 2309 billion, which lost three positions in one year. Follow the top ten: Mitsubishi (2,276 billion), BNP Paribas (2.123 billion), which loses two positions, and Citigroup (2.122 billion), which leaves on the ground five positions compared to the previous ranking.
In the first quarter of 2016, however, the world's banks are still struggling, as Mediobanca explains, noting in particular the average trend of European institutions which experienced a decline of 9.8% in revenues compared to the first quarter of 2015, rising to decline 27 % in terms of net profit. Is that better for US banks, which limit the contractions respectively -2.2% and -11.6%.
