Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank fly away from Stoxx Europe 50

Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank will be dropped from the Stoxx Europe 50, the index showing the performance of the 50 most important European companies.

From Monday, August 8, the two banks will be replaced by the French group Vinci (construction) and the Dutch ASML (semiconductor industry), as indicated last night by index managers.

The rotation takes place outside of the normal review time index on the basis of the so-called rule "fast exit". This states that a title has to abandon the Stoxx 50 if for two months in a row can not remain in the top 75 market. The decision of STOXX Ltd, which manages the index, following the decline of more than 45% suffered by the two banks during 2016.

Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank have been living very troubled months in the stock market. The Swiss bank' share lost 47% of its value since the beginning of the year. And also to quarterly results published last week, while presenting a profit, have not convinced analysts.
