Italy-Switzerland 2014-2020 Interreg program started

The first call of the Italy-Switzerland 2014-2020 Interreg program begins with the stage of submission of expression of interest. The Programme co-funded by the European Union aims to support the development and the cross-border cohesion Italy-Switzerland (four Italian regions and three Swiss cantons) making the most of local resources, taking advantage of the distinctive features of the two sides and consolidating international relations. The expression of interest (project idea in summary form) must be submitted by September 15, 2016.

Projects should cover one of the following themes: competitiveness of enterprises, enhancement of the natural and cultural heritage, integrated and sustainable mobility, services for the integration of communities, strengthening of cross-border governance.

The area of the Italy-Switzerland Interreg program includes the Province of Bolzano and Valle d'Aosta, Lombardia (provinces of Como, Lecco, Sondrio and Varese), Piemonte (provinces of Novara, Vercelli, Biella and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola) and Swiss cantons Ticino, Graubünden and Valais.
Participation is open to public and private entities established in the cooperation. To present a cooperation project (value approximately between 500,000 and 2 million Euros) is necessary to set up a partnership that includes at least one Italian and one Swiss partner. Funded projects will be short, lasting no longer than 18 months, which projects lasting between 18 and 36 months. The funding may reach 100% of the eligible cost for the Italian public beneficiaries (85% ERDF resources and 15% national co-financing). For private beneficiaries the public contribution (ERDF sun resources) may not exceed 85% of the eligible cost.
