Japan still standing: machinery orders fall

New collapse in April machinery orders in Japan, after the recovery of the previous month, confirming the difficult situation facing the Japanese economy.
The total orders for the private sector in April recorded a fall of 20.2%, after + 2% previously. The indicator has been published by the Institute of Economic Research and the Japan Social (ESRI).
The core figure, excluding volatile components, has recorded a sharp drop of 11% after increasing 5.5% the previous month, resulting in below analysts' expectations, which showed a more moderate decline of 3.7 %. The overall figure, which includes government and foreign orders, instead reported a drop of 12.8% after 15.8% the previous year.
