Nestlé and R & R give life to Froneri, new giant frozen foods

Nestle, the world's biggest food company, will create a joint venture in the ice cream industry with R & R, a leader in the freezer products in the UK.

Froneri, the name of the new company co-owned by the two companies, will be located across the Channel and will be present in over 20 countries, including Europe, the Middle East, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, the Philippines and South Africa, employing 15,000 people. Nestlé has indicated in a statement today indicating that sales would be expected of 2.7 billion francs.

The new brand will combine the activities of Nestle ice cream in the industry and the influence of R & R in the territories indicated. The cost of the transaction, which must be approved by the regulatory authorities, remains reserved.

Luis Cantarelli, Director of Nestle Europe, the Middle East and North Africa has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors Froneri.
The joint venture was in the works since autumn 2015, and finds its precedent in an already very solid link: R & R and Nestlé have collaborated over the past 15 years, first in the UK and Ireland, and then in Australia and South Africa , countries in which R & R is licensed trademark of the Swiss multinational.
