Switzerland is not afraid of Brexit

The Swiss believe that Brexit will have positive consequences for their country, according to the gfs.berne Institute who analyzed 2016 barometer of the concerns of Credit Suisse. The majority of the population considers, in fact, that Switzerland's position will be strengthened.
"The citizens are perfectly aware that Brexit will have on Switzerland" economic and political consequences, he said in a statement Lukas Golder, co-director of gfs.berne.

Less than 10% of the 1,010 people questioned in July, had no opinion about the consequences of Brexit and it is a very low percentage, according to the study. In addition, optimism has strengthened markedly over time.

The majority, 55% of respondents, believed that the release of the UK from the European Union will be "fairly or very beneficial" for the Swiss economy. An optimism that surprised even the experts as it is shared between supporters of different political parties, although it is more marked on the right, while the younger generation, especially people under age 40, are slightly more pessimistic about the prospects after the British vote.
