Amazon plans to delivery to the Moon

Jeff Bezos, co-founder of Amazon and owner of Blue Origin, a private space firm looking to rival SpaceX, is hoping to help humanity establish a colony on the moon by delivering supplies there. An internal report from Blue Origin was obtained by the Washington Post, which Mr Bezos also owns, and outlines the space travel firm’s plans for future missions.

Mr Bezos says he now want to create a delivery service to our nearest satellite. He explained that NASA need to create “incentives to the private sector to demonstrate a commercial lunar cargo delivery service”.

Amazon may drop packages by parachute

Amazon may have a new option for how it plans to deliver your packages by drone with parachutes. The potential plans are outlined in a new US Patent and Trademark office patent spotted by CNN.

The patent describes a way to reliably eject a payload from a drone in midflight. Usually, such a drop would see the package descend along a parabolic arc, caused by the forward motion of the aircraft-but that might not jive too well with the neighbors. Instead, Amazon’s idea is to apply a force as the package leaves the drone to have it descend vertically.

Amazon Go: shopping will become "do-it-yourself"

Amazon unveiled technology that will let shoppers grab groceries without having to scan and pay for them, eliminating the checkout line.
The company is testing the new system at what it’s calling an Amazon Go store in Seattle, which will open to the public early next year. Customers will be able to scan their phones at the entrance using a new Amazon Go mobile app. Then the technology will track what items they pick up or even return to the shelves and add them to a virtual shopping cart in real time, according a video Amazon posted on YouTube.

UBS, Amazon unit to create digital financial expert

UBS and Amazon are teaming up to test a digital tool which could help investors to choose their financial strategy. The project is an endeavor by the UBS Wealth Innovation Lab in Zurich, led by Dave Bruno, the bank said in a statement on Thursday.
"Amazon Alexa" will be the digital voice of "Amazon Echo", an hands-free speaker, and will answer over financial questions made by customers. The iniziative will be tested on November with a "select group", the bank didn’t reveal other details.
