The last souvenir from Switzerland? A bottle of Alpine fresh air for $100

Switzerland is known for its efficiency that led to great environmental improvement in terms of reducing their carbon footprint. This is why the Swiss Alps still has the sweetest air in the world. John Green thought the smell could be captured in a bottle and many more believed so because a single bottle of Swiss mountain air costs about $100-150.

Basel resident John Green, who moved from Tunbridge Wells (UK) 20 years ago, mainly because of the skiing and the healthy lifestyle, said: "I haven't sold any of the air yet as the company was only launched at the weekend, but the Swiss and German media has gone mad about it. He sells varying sizes of bottled “genuine mountain air” from Switzerland that comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. By feeding the GPS coordinates into Google maps the buyer can view the exact secret location.  “Collected from our secret location, actual Swiss molecules,” he said in the ads on the website. “And don’t forget it's air exclusively from Switzerland, surely the best air in the world.”

The atmospheric commodity, called “genuine mountain air”, costs $97 for 500ml, $167 for a liter and $247 for 3 liters, worldwide shipping included, The Local Switzerland reported.

To experience the “full effect” upon opening the jar, it’s recommended that you first chill the bottle in the freezer, in order to retain that true mountain feel. The website describes the sensation with a good deal of flair: “You flick the latch open and there's a quick pfsst as the mountain pressure equalizes and you can take a breath of genuine mountain air from Switzerland,” it reads. Or, like a bottle of wine, you can “keep the magic inside as a collector’s item or to remind you of the good life and open at a later date or celebration.”
