The new 50 euro banknote: safer, innovative, against counterfeiting

The new € 50 banknote will enter into service in April 2017, issued by the European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt.

After the banknotes of 5, 10 and 20 euro, the 50 is the fourth cut of the second series of euro banknotes, known as "Europe." Among the banknotes, it is the most widely used and represents 45% of all banknotes in circulation, as reported by the note of the ECB. For this reason the new banknote has "highly advanced safety features" to avoid being spoofed.

The new cut brings the window with portrait, "a new and innovative element" used for the first time in the 20 euro ticket to the "Europe" series. Looking at the note is held up, the window at the top of the hologram reveals transparency, on both sides of the business, the portrait of Europe, Greek mythology. The portrait also appears in the watermark. On the front of the note there is then the "emerald green number", the brilliant figure that changes color when it is passing move from emerald green to dark blue, and the effect of a light that moves vertically.

These safety features, explains the ECB, facilitate control the authenticity of the new ticket 50 Euros, with the "method of touch-look-tilt."
