Worth’s trade Switzerland-Lombardy is €30 bn on year

The value of trade between Lombardy and Switzerland amounts to around 11 billion euro per year. The figure is equal to one third of the more than 30 billion nationwide, according to the estimate given by the Milan Chamber of Commerce, on the 2015 data, the day after the vote in Ticino on the border restrictions.
The data broadly confirms the turnover of 2014, with a slight drop of 1%.

Milan is the city that leads the standings with € 6.298 billion followed by Monza (1,214 bn) and two of the provinces bordering directly with the canton of Ticino: Varese (over 701 million) and Como (648 million).

Italian exports was driven by metallurgy (basic metals and metal products worth € 1.2 billion), textiles, with clothing, leather and accessories for € 836 million, computers and electronic and optical equipment (€ 817 mln). Computer and electronic equipment are also the second largest item in imports where the first place is taken by the pharmaceutical sector with 1.1 billion.
