Switzerland fixed women to retire at 65

Women will retire at 65. After the States General, also the Swiss National Council approved – by 137 votes to 57 – the raising of a year of their retirement age in the examination of the Pension Provision 2020 program, bringing it into line with the retirement age for men.

The new regulation will apply from the third year following the entry into force of the reform and will allow, for the AHV coffers, savings of 1.2-1.3 billion francs. Women between 55 and 63 years would be particularly affected, according to PS Aargau Yvonne Feri. The request has not been met by the deputies.

Early retirement for strenuous work was not authorized.

In a referendum Sunday, Swiss voters have chosen not to increase to the country's basic state pension by 10%, when 59.4% voted against the increase in the state pension.
